We had two major snow storms hit our area in February that shattered long standing records. By the Wednesday afternoon before we were camping,  BWI had recorded over 49 inches of new snow!

We were originally camping at ALKOR but cancelled when they couldn't plow the roads or get electricity working. After a flurry of activity we were set Thursday night for Camp Puh'Tok. Friday morning we learned their plow was broken so the road could not be plowed and they had also lost electricity. The hunt was on and a cancellation of Hansen Lodge at Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation provided us a place to camp. By the end of Friday, every other reservation at Broad Creek was cancelled and we were the only group camping for the weekend.

The thirty-five Scouts and the dozen adults had a great time during the weekend. Hansen Lodge bunk rooms and common room provided sleeping and living accommodations while the hill down to the pool provided challenging sledding opportunities.

Temperatures during the day were in the low thirties with a low of 18 on Friday and 19 on Saturday nights.
