Upcoming Camping Trips and Activities Schedule

The Troop is looking for an adult volunteer to becoming our new Troop treasurer. Our existing treasurer would like to retire and we need a replacement. Please express your interest to our Committee Chairman, Ken Krach.

The PLC will meet at the Scoutmaster's home at 7 pm on Sunday. All Patrols must be represented by their Patrol Leader or a designated replacement.

The Troop Committee will meet Monday at 7:30 at the parish center. All adult leaders and parents are welcome to participate.

This next camping trip is an annual favorite. We will be camping on the beach at the State Park. We'll be playing in the waves, playing football, and other games on the beach. Saturday evening we will go on an excursion to the Ocean City boardwalk and come back to a late feast. Check back for more details.

TROOP 497 50th Anniversary Celebration - 2009

Our Troop will reach its 50^th anniversary next year and we are planning activities to celebrate this special event.  We need volunteers to assist in the planning and organization and would like to ask your assistance – more information will be provided in a future e-mail and on the Troop WEB page. 

Looking for ALL Troop 497 Eagle Scouts – we need contact information, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.  So if you are a Troop 497 Eagle, or know and Eagle as a parent, friend, spouse, etc., please provide this information to Mr. Palmer by e-mail at mailto:scoutmaster@troop497.org , we would like to have every Eagle attend the celebration next year. 

We would also like to receive photographs of our Eagles to use for our WEB Page, check it out and you will notice there are a lot of spots missing photographs – yes, we know there will probably be black and white photos of some of the first Eagles in the Troop, and the hair lengths will vary by the decade, but please help us out.  Please send photos to Mr. Charpentier by e-mail at mailto:webmaster@troop497.org , or mail the photo to Mr. Palmer (contact him by e-mail for the address).

Monthly boards of review for Star and Life
Monthly boards of review for Star and Life are held during the first Troop meeting of each month. A scout who would like to plan a review must contact Dr. John Milto, our Troop Advancement Chairman, to schedule the Board of Review at least one week ahead of time. You will need to be in full uniform, have your Scout Handbook, dues paid in full, and merit badges confirmed.
