Two parishioners of St. Joseph Church, Mrs. Joann Phipps and Mrs. Toni McKinney will lead a group starting in September 2010. Several scouts from the parish who are in another troop have expressed a strong interest in this program. Please review the information below. If you are interested in joining us or want more information, please contact Mrs. Toni McKinney (410) 453-0114. The schedule and location of meetings will be determined at a later time.

Eagle project – Baseball equipment donation request

As part of an Eagle project Daniel Franz is collecting baseball equipment for underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic.  The equipment can be used and in any condition, or new – the need is great and any donation will be greatly appreciated.

  • Daniel and the scouts will be refurbishing and cleaning the equipment and sending to the organization in the Dominican Republic which works with the youth in need.

  • Please check your basement or attic, or the back of the mud room closet for any baseball gloves, bats, balls, hats, face masks, helmets, shin guards, etc.

  • Or if your rec council has a supply of old or unused uniforms or t-shirts, bases, bats, etc., they can be put to good use for those less fortunate.

Daniel will be passing out a flyer at the troop meeting June 3rd, or contact him on how to contribute.

Calling adult leaders during business hours

Scouts should not be calling adult leaders during business hours for non critical items. The adult leaders strongly prefer that Scouts and parents only call them in the evenings and on weekends for routine Scout items.

Help us keep contact information up to date:

  • If you change your e-mail address – NOTIFY us of the change – just send an email to moosemen@verizon.net with the new e-mail address.

Monthly boards of review for Star and Life
Monthly boards of review for Star and Life are held during the first Troop meeting of each month. A scout who would like to plan a review must contact Dr. John Milto, our Troop Advancement Chairman, to schedule the Board of Review at least one week ahead of time. You will need to be in full uniform, have your Scout Handbook, dues paid in full, and merit badges confirmed.

Camping Trips and Activities

See the announcements for each trip for more detailed information as a trip approaches. We have posted a generic camping trip personal gear list to our forms page on this site. Print it out and use it as a reminder list when packing for a weekend camping trip.
